Welcome to GovTyping. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about our policy or our practices with regards to your personal information, please contact us.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering at the Platform, expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products, or participating in activities on the Platform.
- Account Credentials: Email address, name, caste category, and keyboard layout choice.
- Sign-In Providers: We utilize Google OAuth (Firebase Authentication) to facilitate secure account login. We only read basic details (display name, email, avatar URL) as authorized by Google.
- Typing Performance Analytics: We track and save your gross/net speed, keystroke latency, diagnostic backspaces, accuracy, and detailed results from typing tests to compute diagnostics and populate leaderboard data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information collected via our Platform for a variety of business purposes described below:
- To facilitate account creation and logon process.
- To compute typing diagnostics (identifying transposed keys, finger sync errors, weak key combinations).
- To render global leaderboards so you can compare your typing speed with other aspirants.
- To manage your active course subscriptions.
3. Storage & Security of Information
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Your session credentials are saved locally in the browser's secure cache (localStorage/SharedPreferences) and transmitted via HTTPS to our Express REST API. Telemetry data is protected against unauthorized access.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your information with third parties. All performance metrics are only visible to you on your dashboard and anonymously (by display name) on the leaderboard.
5. Your Privacy Rights
You can review, change, or terminate your account details at any time by navigating to the configurations page in the student portal, or by requesting details removal via support.
